Emily Eve Weinstein is a Chapel Hill artist, well-known for murals, portrait and fine art. For August 8 ArtWalk, Emily will execute pet portraits from 6-9pm in watercolor and in oil. Call for more details. - LIVE DEMO of fused glass jewelry creation by Jennifer Strickland

Jennifer Strickland of Carrborocreates jewelry and art pieces fused fromcut, crushed and powdered glass. She will cut and stack glass pieces live 6-9pm, demonstrating the process and the stages of fused glass jewelry design. Working examples of glass fired at different temperatures demonstrate the myriad shapes and colors created by the heat of the kiln. Jennifer finds that “glass is truly alive and has an ebb and flow of its own.” - Exhibit: “Sue Kopkind: A Bounty of Bowls”

Sue Kopkind, an accomplished local textile artisan, will exhibit new coiled fabric baskets and bowls in a dazzling array of interesting colors, shapes and sizes. The distinctive fabric composition of the coils, mainly batiks, give each piece a unique color pattern.
